Guidelines and Policies
To fulfill its philanthropic responsibilities most effectively, the Legacy Foundation of Floyd County and its Board of Trustees operate in accordance with the guidelines and policies listed below.
Geographic Restrictions: The Foundation will make grants only to organizations whose projects and programs benefit the residents of Floyd County, Indiana which include New Albany, Floyds Knobs, Greenville, Georgetown, and Galena areas. If serving clients from other geographic areas, an organization may be funded for the portion of its proposed project that directly serves Floyd County residents. Such grant applicant organizations must report the breakdown of its clients by county and/or state.
Grant Program Priorities: The Foundation will award most of its grants to meet the needs and priorities documented in the Priorities for Progress—Assets and Aspirations in Southern Indiana 2021 Report (produced in partnership with the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana and Indiana University Southeast Applied Research and Education Center).
The Foundation expects organizations applying for grants to relate their projects and desired outcomes to the information in the assessment.
The Foundation will consider applications for any of the needs in the report. However, it will give top priority to grants to meet one or more of these needs:
Vocational trade certification and other workforce development support
